Build Log | 02-23-2008 | Student Project |
|
February 23, 2008 SNX-X18, SNX-X09, SNX-X15 Katie finished drilling the forward wing skin today and started on a couple of new parts. Creating the leading edge profile proved a little troublesome, and as it turns out might be a better two person job. We got in straightened out and she moved on to cutting out the main spar caps and the wing rib. Nice Work!

Our first program will dovetail with the Sonex Education Initiative. We are working with a group of students from Colgate University to build small projects as a means to teach the basic metalworking skills required for building an aircraft. Once students show competence with these skills, they will begin work on our airplane project. Our goal is to expand this program to work with other local high schools and colleges. |
